Errors & rate limits

Errors are JSON with a message, and a matching HTTP status code.

Status Meaning
401 Missing, invalid, expired or revoked token. Refresh it, or send the user through the authorize flow again.
403 The token lacks a required scope (listed under scopes), or the endpoint needs Tikk Pro and the user is on Free ("error": "plan_required", see Plans).
404 Unknown endpoint, or a resource that doesn't belong to the user.
422 Invalid query parameters; details are under errors.
429 Rate limit exceeded.

Rate limits

Each token may make 60 requests per minute. Every response carries the current state in these headers:

Header Meaning
X-RateLimit-Limit Requests allowed per minute.
X-RateLimit-Remaining Requests left in the current minute.
Retry-After On a 429: seconds to wait before retrying.

The limit is per token, so one busy Tikk user doesn't slow down the others connected to your app.
